The image dark shoes is high contrast. Normal screening will result in print plugging and loss of detail in the shoes. Since the shoes consist of smooth tone, the use of full stochastic screening would result in a grainy look to the shoes. So here we use a hybrid screening setup. To prevent the highlight "shoe shine" from washing out we set the highlight hybrid screening value to 20% which compares to the average value in the shine area. To keep the midtones smooth we set a much higher screen ruling. To keep the shadow from pluging we set it to 92% and switched back to stochastic.
